Mrs. Viola Wilson Michaud, age 82 of E. Tugalo Street, Toccoa, Georgia passed away Sunday, April 29, 2018 at the Stephens County Hospital.
A daughter of the late Ola Lawson Marcus, she was born April 27, 1936 in Stephens County, Georgia where she lived the majority of her life. She worked as Senior Radio Operator for 28 years for the Georgia State Patrol. She was the first woman to be hired as a radio operator for the Georgia State Patrol. She was of the Baptist faith and longtime member of Eastanollee Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her first husband of 52 years, Grant Wilson, two brothers, Glenn and Carlton Marcus and by three sisters, Bonnie Gunn, Osteen Wheeler and Margie Mealor Simmons.
Survivors include her husband of 12 years, Andy Michaud; son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Peggy Wilson; daughter, Janice Robertson; four grandchildren, Alison Mutton, Jason Wilson, Beverly Roper and Jake Wilson; seven great-grandchildren, Sydney Mutton, Samantha Mutton, Macie Wilson, Brayden Wilson, Harlee Roberts, Hadlee Wilson and Henlee Wilson.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 2, 2018, 2 p.m. in the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with The Reverend Ricky McFarlin officiating. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Steven Mutton, Jake Wilson, Jason Wilson, Nik Kohl, Mike Koppin and Andrew Michaud.
The family will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 2, 2018, 12 noon until the service time.
The family would like to express a special thanks to Amedisys Hospice for the care given to Mrs. Michaud.
Interment will follow in the Toccoa City Cemetery with the Acree-Davis Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements for Mrs. Vilola Wilson Michaud.
