Martha A. Thompson

Martha A. Thompson, age 61, of Oakwood, GA passed away on Friday, April 27, 2018.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William M. and Martha J. Parsons Thompson; and brother, Michael Thompson.

She is survived by her friend, Elizabeth Stege, Gainesville, GA; brothers and sisters-in-law, Frank and Faye Thompson, St. Louis, IL and David and Janet Thompson, Jacksonville, AR; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Miss Thompson was born July 19, 1956. She was a 1974 graduate of Titusville High School in Titusville, FL, a 1977 graduate of Troy State College in Troy, AL with a Bachelor’s Degree and a graduate of North Georgia College with a Master’s Degree. She retired from Gainesville City School System where she was a Star Teacher of the Year. She was an avid bridge player and was a director of Lanierland Bridge Club. Recently, she became a Life Master that was her goal. She was an avid gardener and nothing else would please her more than if one planted a flower or tree in her memory.

There will be a visitation at the funeral home on Wednesday, May 2, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. for friends and associates. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Eagle Ranch, P. O. Box 7200, Chestnut Mountain, GA 30502 in memory of Martha A. Thompson.
