June Hardy O'Kelley

June Hardy O’Kelley, 82, of Gainesville, GA passed away April 29, 2018 at Manor House of Gainesville following an extended illness.

A Graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 3, 2018 at Alta Vista Cemetery.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church Chapel Gainesville with Rev. Bruce Fields officiating.  The family will receive friends in the Parlor after the service.

Born on April 18, 1936 in Gainesville, GA she was the daughter of the late Milton and Mary Carter Hardy. Mrs. June O’Kelley was a teacher and a media specialist for the Hall County School System and retired in 1995. She was a fourth generation member at First Baptist Church. For 30 years she was a member of the adult choir.  She played piano for 17 years for the children’s choir.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. June O’Kelley is preceded in death by her sisters, Jo Hardy Fendig and Jane Hardy Fowler.

She was the most gracious, gentle and loving, mother, friend and teacher. She was the perfect picture of unconditional love.

Mrs. June O’Kelley is survived by her daughter, Kathy O’Kelley Whitmire (David) of Gainesville; son, Ken O’Kelley (Sonya)  of Flowery Branch; daughter, Karey O’Kelley Aitken (Steve) of Beaufort, SC; daughter, Kristy O’Kelley Howard (Curtis) of Plano, TX; grandchildren, Brooke O’Kelley, Kip O’Kelley, Ansley Howard, Anthony Howard and other relatives.
