Mrs. Irene Hawkins Bollinger, age 88, of Hilltop Way in Toccoa passed away Friday, April 27, 2018 at Pruitt Health of Toccoa.
A daughter of the late Roy Lee and Rosa Goble Hawkins, she was born December 1, 1929 in Gastonia, North Carolina and lived the greater part of her life in Toccoa. She was affiliated with radio station WLET of Toccoa for a number of years. Mrs. Bollinger was a member at Ebenezer Baptist Church and was the last member of her immediate family. She was preceded in death by a son, Woody Bollinger and daughter-in-law, Barbara Bollinger.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Gene Bollinger of the home, two sons and daughter-in-law, Clayton and Yvonne Bollinger of Toccoa and Barry Bollinger of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, daughter-in-law Cindy Bollinger of Toccoa, four grandchildren and spouses, Kimberly and Caleb Holland, Cody and Kelli Bollinger, Barry A. Bollinger, and Brittany and L.B. Mooney.
A Memorial Service celebrating the life of Mrs. Irene Bollinger will be held on Saturday, May 5, 2018, 11 O’clock a.m. at the Ebenezer Baptist Church with The Reverend Jerry Stowe officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the P230 Ministry – Ebenezer Baptist Church, 49 Roselane, Toccoa, Georgia 30577 in memory of Mrs. Irene Bollinger.
