Thomas Holmes Powell

Thomas “Tommy” Holmes Powell, 53, formerly of Dawsonville, passed away Thursday April 26, 2018 at Chestatee Regional Hospital.

Tommy was born September 18, 1964 in Mobile, Alabama to the late Howard and Peggy Powell.  A member of The Lighthouse for Jesus Church in Sugarhill, he loved to participate in music and loved the water.  He would never meet a stranger and loved to flirt with the ladies.  Tommy loved to eat and his favorite meal was Ms. Vickie’s chicken and dumplings.

Surviving are his brother, Lee Powell and Karen McClure, Conyers; sister, patty Treadwell, Conyers; second parents, Grady and Vickie Teems, Dahlonega; and many other friends and relatives.

Funeral services will be held Thursday May 3, 2018 at 11 o’clock at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel.  Rev. Keith Blackwell will officiate.  Interment will follow in Sawnee View Gardens.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5 until 8 at the funeral home.
