Henry Edwin Reed

Henry Edwin Reed, 89 of Cleveland passed away on Sunday, April 22, 2018 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 27, 2018 in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with Rev. Douglas Merck and Rev. Andee Courson officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, April 26, 2018 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Born on June 12, 1928 in Talmo, GA he was the son of the late Henry Grady and Dora Irvin Reed. He worked at Whitmoyer Lab as a truck driver and then later retired from Little-Woodall where he worked in the warehouse and shipping. He was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Reed served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was ordained as a deacon in 1973 at Woodlawn Baptist Church. He served as a deacon for many years at Woodlawn Baptist Church and also Mt. Yonah Baptist Church in Cleveland.  He and his wife RayAnn worked in Bible School and were also big supporters of Relay for Life in White County for 34 years and he worked at the Mt. Yonah Precinct during election time.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Reed is preceded in death by his wife, RayAnn Nix Reed; brother, Charles Reed; sister, Myrtice Simmons.

Mr. Reed is survived by his daughter and son in law, Rhonda Bonin (Van) of Lascassas, TN; granddaughters, Rachel Rutledge (Josh) of Castalian Springs, TN, Amy Kirksey (Christopher) of Abilene, TX; great-grandchildren, Elijah Rutledge, Emmaline Kirksey; brothers, Wiley Reed (Jo) of Belmont, GA, Paul Reed (Bernice) of Charlotte, NC; sister, Ruth Cooper (Cooledge) of Braselton and a number of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
