Ronald Bennett Welborn, Sr

Mr. Ronald Bennett Welborn, Sr., age 86 of Gainesville, passed away on April 11, 2018.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00pm on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at Memorial Park North Riverside Chapel. Rev. Robert Songster will officiate. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 3:00pm on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at the funeral home.

Mr. Welborn was born on September 25, 1931 to the Late Albert Lee Welborn and the late Annie Inez Welborn in Anderson, South Carolina. Mr. Welborn served in the United States Navy. He retired from Warren Featherbone Company as the Director of Manufacturing.

Mr. Welborn was preceded in death by his parents; sisters Evelyn Hill, Lena Cleveland and Grace Songster.

He is survived by his wife Ann Greer Welborn of Gainesville; son Ronald Bennett Welborn, Jr. of Gainesville; son and daughter-in-law Kevin and Beverly Welborn of Gainesville; daughter and son-in-law Leigh and Bob Simmons of Sarasota, Florida; daughter Jeri Kovacevic of Bradenton, Florida; daughter and son-in-law Ronna and Ed Dawson of Robesonia, Pennsylvania; grandchildren Lena Ansley Welborn, Lauren McLead, Lindsey McLead, Blake McLead, Kevin Kovacevic, Kaylee Kovacevic, Dana Baker, Amber Dawson, Cody Dawson, and Brittany Dawson; 2 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law Rev. Robert Songster. He is also survived by a close friend Billy Galloway of Flowery Branch, Georgia.
