William Carley Puckett

Funeral services are scheduled for 3:00 p.m. Saturday April 14, 2018 at Ward’s Funeral Home Chapel for William Carley Puckett, age 84 of Gainesville. The Rev. Bradley Elliott and Rev. Douglas Saxton will officiate. Interment will follow at Air Line Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Mr. Puckett passed away Thursday, April 12, 2018 at his home after a long struggle with COPD.

Mr. Puckett was born on August 4, 1933, the youngest son of the late Arthur E. Puckett and Frances Stepp Puckett. He was preceded in death by his seven siblings. He was a graduate of Oakwood High School, Class of 1950. He served his country with the U.S. Army in Seoul, Korea and retired from Williams Brothers Concrete Company. He was a member of
Air Line Baptist Church and served in many capacities.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Coley Puckett; daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Ricky Brown; son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Beth Puckett; grandchildren, Jeremy and Jessica Brown, Steven Brown, Megan and Rick Little, and Mallory Puckett; great grandchildren, Ryan Brown, Rachel Brown, Jacob Brown, and Everett Little, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Heyward and Ann Jean Coley and numerous nieces and nephews.
