James Carson Easterday

James Carson Easterday, 85 of Gainesville passed away Monday April 9, 2018 at his residence.

Mr. Easterday was a graduate of the University of Tennessee and served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. After the war, Mr. Easterday continued in Government Service performing Special Assignments in the Department of Defense and NASA.  He retired from federal service after 27 years.  Mr. Easterday established and operated his own business for twelve years.  

Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law, Robert Mays Easterday (Toni), Powder Springs, Ga.; James Kent Easterday (Tami), Gainesville, GA; Grandchildren, Tanner Grant Easterday, Dylan Mays Easterday, Carleigh Easterday, Luke Easterday, Anna Catherine Harris, Durham Harris (Tiffany), Jonathan Harris; Brother and sister-in-law; Charles Eugene Easterday (Carolann), Knoxville, TN.

Mr. Easterday is preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Marion Easterday who passed away April 2014.

Inurnment services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday April 17, 2018 at the Columbarium of the First Baptist Church.  Dr. Bill Coates will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that memorial contributions please be made to Good News Clinics, P.O. Box 2683, Gainesville, Ga. 30503 in memory of Mr. Easterday.
