Jerry Elizabeth House

Jerry Elizabeth House, 77, of Gainesville, passed away Friday March 30, 2018. Mrs. House was born August 7, 1940 in Clarkesville, GA to the late Claud D. and Dorothy Hughes. 

Mrs. House worked in the medical field for 50+ years along with her special “Camelot” friends.  She served as the past local president for AAMA and touched many lives.  Jerry was known for her love for God, her family and friends.  Her home served as a gathering place where everyone was quickly adopted as family and always remained a home of love and care.

Jerry was married to Mr. Billy R. House in 1955 until his passing in 1986.  For 33 years she served him faithfully.  In 1981 Mr. House was seriously injured, he remained in coma for 5 years where she was faithful to take care of him at home.  She fulfilled her wedding vows of “in sickness and in health” and what it means to be a helpmate.    

Jerry was especially proud of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her love of sports.  Her faith and love in God, her spouse, and her family and friends, is an enduring legacy!

In addition to her parents and spouse, Jerry is proceeded in death by her brother Dennis Hughes, sister Ann Hughes Watson, aunt Elizabeth “Libby” Clerc, and special friend Dr. Janet K Johnson.

Jerry is survived by her loving family:  Sons and Daughters-in- laws, Ronald and Joy House, Donald and Sabrina House, Tim and Patti House, all of Gainesville, GA.  Gary and Cindy House of Social Circle, GA and Daughter and Son-in-law, Laura and Dr. Robby Foster of Valdosta, GA. And adopted son, Mark and Debbie Reeves.

Grand Children, Leigh and Josh Little, Alex and Michele Grigg, Kelly and Eric Johnson, all of Gainesville, GA.   Andy and Casey House, of Raleigh, NC. Amanda and Jeff Mealey and Drew House of Gainesville, GA.  Emily House and Will Brown of Braselton, GA.  Christy and Matt Collins of Alpharetta, GA. Kimberly and Jacob Moore of Social Circle, GA.  Justin House of Dallas, TX, Julie House and David House of Social Circle, GA.  Tiffany and Keith Merck of Braselton, and Josh and Morgan Foster of Valdosta, GA.

Great-Grand Children, Kealey Bridges, Alyssa Bridges, Mason Bridges, and Benjamin Grigg.  Micah Johnson, Brie Johnson and Luke Johnson.  Camryn Mealey, Sydney Brown, Baylee Brown, and Addison Moore.   Ella Grace Merck, Graham Merck and Ansleigh Merck. Brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Jo Hughes.

Visitation for Mrs. House will be Monday April 2, 2018 from 5-8 p.m. at Little & Davenport Funeral Home.  Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday April 3, 2018 in the Funeral Home Chapel. Dr. Robby Foster and Rev. Josh Foster will officiate.  Interment to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
