Mary Anne Barden Caudell, age 84 of Mt. Airy, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, March 29, 2018.
Born in Cornelia, Georgia on April 28, 1933, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Annie Turpen Barden. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Caudell was preceded in death by her husband, Dewey Winford Caudell; brothers, James Barden and Lee Barden; sisters, Claudine Tomlin and Louise “Tootsie” Morgan.
Mrs. Caudell was a retired registered nurse. During her 45 years of service as a nurse she administered care at Sharpe Medical Center in San Diego, California, Habersham Medical Center, Tugaloo Home Health, and served as an assistant to Dr. Olan Garrison. Mrs. Caudell was a member of Cornelia United Methodist Church. She enjoyed horseback riding, coin collecting and gardening.
Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Doug & Donna Caudell of Mt. Airy; daughters and sons-in-law, Pam Veatch Bean & Gerald Bean of Gainesville and Lynn & Rev. Michael Hosch of Buford; brothers, Bill Barden of Cornelia and Dan Barden of Orrville, Ohio; sisters, Lena McGahee of Cornelia and Doris Goldman of Natchez, Mississippi; grandchildren and spouses, Kara & Will Head, Clinton & Sofia Veatch, Derrick & Beth Caudell, Caitlin & Adam Martin, Ashley & Ethan Vandiver, Kyler Hosch, Dianna & Chad Taylor, Dillon Caudell; great grandchildren, Payton, Maddox, Xander, Asa, Emma, Reed; numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are scheduled for 5:30 pm, Saturday, March 31, 2018 from the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin and Stewart with Rev. Susan Collins officiating. Interment will follow in Level Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Michael Hosch officiating.
The family will receive friends from 4:30 until the funeral hour on Saturday at the funeral home.
