Margaret Griffin Yonce age 83 went to be with the Lord on March 28, 2018. She was born in Hall County on February 2, 1935 to the late
Buck Griffin and Ina Colbert Griffin. She was preceded in death by her brother Bennie (Ben) Griffin.
Margaret attended Gillsville School where she graduated Valedictorian in 1952 and later graduated from Perry Business School. In July of
1953 she was employed at the Hall County Court House as a Deputy Clerk. She worked there for 43 years and saw 5 County Clerks sworn
in, numerous Sheriffs, Judges, and Justices of the Peace during her tenure. She also helped in recording of the various deeds and paper
work during the building of Lake Lanier many years ago.
She was a devoted Christian and a member of Lebanon United Methodist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was a very humble and giving person and a friend to all. She was also known for her potato salad and homemade chocolate cake. She will be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years Joel Roger Yonce, daughter and son-in-law, Caroline and Jack Keener of Gainesville,
daughter and son-in-law, Arrahwannah and Ronnie Turpin of Mount Airy, grandchildren, Kate Turpin, Kassidy Turpin, Griffin Keener, and
numerous cousins.
Funeral Services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Saturday March 31, 2018 at Lebanon United Methodist Church. The Rev. Sven Mossinger will preside. Interment will be at Lebanon United Methodist Cemetery following the service. The family will receive friends at Wards
funeral home on Friday March 30, 2018 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
