Brindia Lorene Ray, 75, of Dawsonville passed away Monday March 26, 2018 at her residence following a period of declining health.
Born March 1, 1943 in Mt. Olive, Alabama to the late Hiram and Alice Wicks, she had lived in Dawson County for the past 29 years having moved from Lumpkin County. Brindia was employed by Owens Farms, Inc. for 30 years after which she worked several years as a caregiver. She enjoyed art and loved to crotchet. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, James Lee Ray; daughter, Anita Prichard; son, Mark Ray; two sisters and four brothers.
Surviving are her sons and daughter in law, James Timothy Ray, Dawsonville, Lucas and Celina Ray, Dawsonville; 9 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren; son in law, Tim Prichard, Dawsonville; sister in law, Frances Bruce Ray, Dawsonville; and a number of other relatives.
Funeral services will be held Thursday March 29, 2018 at 2 o’clock at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Darren Sams will officiate. Interment will follow in the Philippi Baptist Church Cemetery in Lumpkin County.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 4 until 8 at the funeral home.
