James Allen White (Jimmy) age 75 of Gainesville, born to Jamie Waters White and Emmitt William White on December 3, 1942, went to meet his Savior on March 19, 2018.
Jimmy lived a very full and active life. He was very giving to his family, friends and community. Earlier in life he coached basketball at the Boys Club, coached and umpired little league baseball, was scout leader, and was an avid bowler. He served many years in the Clermont Lions Club. During his years of service, he held various offices including president.
He loved animals, especially his horses. He was always happy to be on the trail with his friends for a day of riding. As much as he enjoyed all of these things, he found his greatest joy in the Lord and spending time with his family. He loved time with his wife, daughters and their families. Even at the end of his battle of Alzheimer's, he always had a sweet smile for his family, friends and devoted caregivers.
He made his small part of the world a happier place. A part of our lives will be void without him, but because of his faith in God, we know that he is rejoicing with meeting his Savior.
Jimmy attended Gainesville High School and Gainesville College. He retired from Hall County Correctional Institute. He was a member of Concord Baptist Church.
He leaves behind a devoted wife, Dianne White, three loving daughters and their families: Beth and Paul Canada, Kelly and David Towe, and
Stacey and Aaron McCaleb. He is also survived by his grandchildren, which he dearly loved: Chris Townsend and family, Jacob Townsend and family, Micah Canada, Jennifer Towe and family, Brooklyn Underwood, Carter McCaleb, Haley McCaleb, and Camden McCaleb. He also leaves behind a beloved brother and sister and nieces and nephews; Emmitt and Jan White and family and Linda and Ray Chastain and family.
We would like to extend a special thank you to our caregivers; John Johnson, Margie Patrick and Donna Carter.
Flowers will be accepted or please feel free to donate to the Clermont Lion's Club 200 Spring Street Clermont, GA 30527 or the Alzheimer's Association Georgia Chapter 41 Perimeter Center East Suite 550 Atlanta, GA 30346 in Jimmy's honor.
