Alan R. Wiles

Mr. Alan R. Wiles, age 82, of Alpharetta, GA passed away on Saturday, March 10, 2018. He was preceded in death by his wife of forty-eight years, Joan Morea Wiles; and son-in-law, Marc Fraser. He is survived by his wife of eleven years, Dorothy A. Parker, Alpharetta, GA; children, Amy and Jerry Miller, Grundy Center, IA, Bob and Joan Wiles, Roswell, GA, Susan Fraser, Sugar Hill, GA, Sarah and Michael French, Tuscaloosa, AL, and Jenny and Jon Knorr, West Grove, PA; sister, Nancy Forrest, Mechanicville, VA; fourteen grandchildren; three great grandchildren; six step grandchildren; step daughters, Priscilla and Vern Johnson, Ocala, FL, Melissa and Scott Anderson, Lawrenceville, GA, Diane and Scott Lokey, Cumming, GA; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mr. Wiles was born September 26, 1935 in Fillmore, NY. He was a 1953 graduate of Fillmore High School in Fillmore, NY. He attended State University of New York at Fredonia, and was a graduate of Rutgers University. Mr. Wiles was a retired computer operator from Liberty Bank in Buffalo, NY, and was a member of Roswell United Methodist Church in Roswell, GA. He was avid musician where he played the clarinet. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at 4:00 p.m. at Roswell United Methodist Church Chapel, 814 Mimosa Blvd., Roswell, GA 30075 with Rev. Nancy Lane officiating. A reception will be held in the Fellowship Hall following the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Roswell United Methodist Church or to the Jordan Thomas Foundation in memory of Alan Wiles.
