Martin Clayton Smith

Mr. Marvin Clayton Smith, 75, of Gainesville, GA., passed away Saturday, March 10, 2018 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

Funeral Services will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Monday, March 12, 2018 in the chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with the Rev. Scott Grizzle officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, March 11, 2018 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Born on October 12, 1942 in Gainesville, GA he was the son of the late Ernest and Tommie Hix Smith. He was retired from Con Agra Foods.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Smith is preceded in death by his siblings, George Smith, Alice Pirkle, Dewey Smith. Billy Smith, Martha Maynor and son, Clayton Smith, Jr.

Mr. Smith is survived by his wife of 50 years, Marie Smith of Gainesville; son and partner, Anthony Smith (Ryan Choi) of Herndon, VA; daughter and son in law, Renee Smith Young (Craig Young, Sr.) of Gainesville; brother, Bobby Smith; sisters, Margie Gibbs, Linda Davis, Barbara Sue Griffith; grandchildren, Craig Young, Jr., Isaiah Young, Daphney Young; sisters in law, Carolyn Marlow, Beverly Millwood and a host of nieces, nephews and other family and friends, and honorary grand-daughter, Dasia Harris.
