Joseph F. Young: Toccoa, Georgia

Mr. Joseph Francis Young, age 44, of Julia Court in Toccoa passed away Thursday, March 8, 2018 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Braselton, Georgia.

The son of Jerome and Willie Jo Smith Young, he was born January 11, 1974 in Pahokee, Florida having lived in West Palm Beach, Florida for several years and in Toccoa for the past twenty-six years. Mr. Young was a runner. He still holds Florida state records in track running and cross country. He coached the Stephens County Middle School cross country team for a few years and was currently the track and cross country coach at Stephens County High School. He was a graduate of Toccoa Falls College where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in communications and was a member at Glad Tidings Assembly of God. He was employed at Bo Jangles of Toccoa where he served as store manager.  

He is survived by his wife, Jean Wilkerson Young of the home, parents, Jerome Young and Willie Jo Smith Young, two daughters and son-in-law, Patricia and Malcolm Campbell of Columbia, S.C. and Christen Jo Young of Toccoa, one grandchild Kaden, and two sisters, Penny Young-Robinson of West Palm Beach, Florida and Allena Mauge of Jupiter, Florida.

A Memorial Service celebrating the life of Mr. Joseph Young will be held Sunday, March 11, 2018 at 6:00 P.M. at Glad Tidings Assembly of God.

The family will receive friends on Sunday evening at Glad Tidings prior to the service from 5 until 6 p.m.
