Jane Smith

Jane Smith, 87 formerly of Buford and Macon Georgia passed away Sunday March 4th following a brief illness.
Jane was born July 8, 1930 in Buford Georgia to the late Keither Patrick and Evelyn Bowman Greer. She graduated from Buford High School and West Georgia College.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, William Holden Smith.  She is survived by sons, William H. Smith, Jr. (Carol) of Lawrenceville, GA, and Dr. James M. Smith (Felicia) of Newnan, GA; daughter, Kathryn Smith Hawkins (Dr. Chuck) of Macon, GA; grandchildren, Jason Smith (Kim) of Dacula, GA, Jennifer Smith Morris (Jeremy) of Dunwoody, GA, Dr. Lindsay Hawkins Lefler (Dr. Will) of Loveland, CO, Greer Hawkins Craig (Bryan) of Atlanta, GA, Jean Hawkins Peake (Joby) of Atlanta, GA,Dr. Patrick Smith (Greer) of New Orleans, LA, and Jake and Sophie Smith of Newnan, GA;  great grandchildren, Evelyn and Alice Smith, Carter and Jane Morris, Henry Holden Smith, and Henry Hawkins Peake , Gus Hawkins Craig, Holden Barrett Peake; sister-in-law, Barbara Smith Norris, Nacogdoches, TX:  Also surviving is her beloved dog Emma.
Jane and Bill were childhood sweethearts and Valedictorian and Salutatorian of Buford High School. A dedicated Army wife, she held her family through deployments and countless moves. She was a dedicated and fiercely loyal Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother.
Visitation will be held at Flanigan Funeral Home, Buford, Georgia from 6pm to 8pm Thursday March 8th. Graveside Funeral Service will be held at Broadlawn Cemetery, Buford, Georgia Friday, March 9^th at 11am, Reverend Stephen Johnson officiating.
In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to either of Jane's favorite charities, Macon Paws and Adopt Macon Georgia and www.thepixelfund.org, or New Heights Baptist Church, 158 Lamar Road, Macon, Georgia 31220 in memory of Jane Smith.
