Leroy Barber

Evans Funeral Home announces the death of Mr. Leroy Barber, age 77, Athens, Georgia of the South Jackson Community, passed away on Monday, March 5, 2018. Mr. Barber was born in Anderson, South Carolina, a son to the late Bevert Lacoy Barber and the late Mary Louzelle Michael Barber. Mr. Barber was a service Technician for the Pepsi Cola Company, was a member of the Living Waters Worship Center in Bogart, Georgia, volunteered at the Potters House in Jefferson. Mr. Barber was a proud American Veteran serving in the U.S. Army in Korea. In addition to his parents, Mr. Barber was preceded in death by his brother, Charlie Barber, Alvin Barber, Ronnie Barber, and sister Grace Skinner.

Survivors include wife, Lenora Meeler Barber of Athens; daughter, Tammy Tomack and her husband David of Jefferson; son Douglas Barber and his wife Rhonda of Athens; sisters, Annie Sue Coker, Dorothy Jean Williamson both of Athens, Rebecca Barber of Bogart, Beverly Patterson of Athens; brothers, Jimmy Barber of Hull, Jerry Barber and Wayne Barber both of Bogart; seven Grandchildren, 9 Great Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.

The Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Home with Reverend William Whitfield officiating. The Burial will follow in the Evergreen Memorial Park in Athens. Gentleman honored as pallbearers are Dean Stringer, Jake Stringer, Brandon Barber, Dylan Barber, Stephan Bell, Tyler Ridgeway, Mason Reece and Josh Milner.

The visitation for Mr. Barber will be held on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 from 12 noon – 2:00 Pm at Evans Funeral Home, prior to the service.
