Robert Ray Batey, 82, of Gainesville, GA passed away Sunday, March 4, 2018 at The Oaks following a brief illness.
A Graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at Memorial Park Cemetery. Reverend Shannon Wingo will officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, March 5, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
Born on May 22, 1936 in Hall County he was the son of the late James Lee and Iola Parks Batey. He was retired from Carroll Daniel Construction Company with over 60 years of service. Mr. Batey was a member of Northside Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Batey is preceded in death by his brothers, James R. Batey and Roy Batey.
Mr. Batey is survived by his brother and sister in law, Rev. Randolph Batey (Brenda) of Gillsville and a number of cousins and nieces and nephews.
