William Daniel "Bill" Foltz went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Wednesday, February 21, 2018. At half past seven in the evening, while surrounded by his family, Bill peacefully entered into glory at the age of 81 years 5 months and five days. Bill was born in Washington, D.C., October 16, 1936 the second son and child of Leslie Frederick and Edythe Wood Foltz.

Bill spent much of his childhood in Washington, D.C. where his father was in transportation, and his mother was a school teacher. The Foltz family, moved to Waynesboro, Virginia at the start of Bill's senior year of high school. A gifted athlete, Bill was a starter on the Waynesboro Little Giants Basketball Team which took runner up in the high school state tournament of Virginia. Bill received a basketball scholarship to Shepard College in West Virginia upon his high school graduation.

Bill subsequently transferred to Western Kentucky University where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Geography. While in Kentucky, Bill Nancy Jo Ayers, and the two were married in 1957. Two children, Dr. Jeffrey Dudley, and Johanna Lynn (Fell) were born to Bill and Nancy.

After the birth of their son, Jeffrey, Bill and Nancy moved to Waynesboro, Virginia where Bill was involved in Sales, and their daughter, Johanna, was born. In 1968, the Foltz family, along with the Brooker and Harper families moved to Atlanta, Georgia.

Bill was in sales during his career. For twenty years, prior to his retirement, he owned Equally Yoked Christian Dating Service. Bill continued to be a sportsman, especially enjoying golf and ALTA tennis. Once in Atlanta, Bill accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. He was very involved in church life for the rest of his life. At Mt. Paran Church of God, Bill was a faithful member of the Personal Witness Training Program.

Bill married, Judy Hargrove, in a lovely ceremony attended by their children and grandchildren at Mt. Paran Church of God in February of 1999, and the Foltz family enthusiastically welcomed daughter Ashley Hargrove (Dickerson) into the family.

After living in Dunwoody for many years, Bill and Judy moved to Cumming, Georgia. There, they were involved in First Redeemer Church and the Forsyth County Women's Club. Bill and Judy loved living in the Cumming area, where they continued to see life-long friends, and meet new friends. Everywhere Bill and Judy lived, there was a welcome loving home full of family, friends, entertainment, fun, and Bill's beloved Old English Sheep Dogs. Shasta, Chelsea and Maggie were waiting to greet Bill in heaven; he leaves Katie behind.

Bill had been in gradually declining health for the last year. He passed away at Northside Hospital Forsyth receiving excellent and compassionate care especially from the ICU and Palliative Care teams, and his much loved and respected personal physician, Dr. Dua.

Bill was proceeded in death by his parents, his brother, Leslie Carroll Foltz, and his granddaughter, Gabrielle Ann Fell. Bill is survived by Judy Hargrove Foltz, children Jeff (Claire Roberts), Johanna (Bill Fell), and Ashley (Chris Dickerson). He is also survived by grandchildren Callie Jo, Porter Daniel, Megan Elise and Ryan Scott, and great-grandchildren Raelynn Grace and Aubree Marie.

Bill left an eternal legacy of faith, family and friends. All of Bill's children and grandchildren made their way to be with Bill in the ICU. During the last hours of Bill's life, he was prayed over by his children and grandchildren along with the wonderful Chaplains at Northside Forsyth Hospital. Bill's great-granddaughters spent the night before their beloved "Papa's" death, praying for Jesus to "make Papa better." Bill learned this as his family encircled him, telling stories about him amidst laughter and tears. Bill entered the presence of his longed-for Savior quietly, sent with much love by his family.

Bill's life will be celebrated at McDonald and Son Funeral Home, Cumming, Georgia, Monday, March 5, 2018. Visitation is at eleven o'clock in the morning followed by a short service at noon.
