Clyde Lee Barker, Jr

Clyde Lee Barker, Jr., 77, of Auburn, GA. formerly of Bluefield, VA passed on Sunday, Feb. 25 at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center.  Clyde was born in Buchanan County, VA on April 12, 1940 to Clyde, Sr. and Garnet Keene Barker.  He was raised in Bluefield, VA and married a classmate, Lila Ruble.  They have been married 57 years and have 3 children: Beth Lathem & Eddie of Dacula,GA; Clyde Lee III of Lilburn, GA and Brian Garrel Barker of Columbus, GA.  Grandchildren:  Matt Lathem & wife, Summer of Lawrenceville, GA; Jessie Lathem of Dacula, GA; Austin & Ashlin Barker of Columbus, GA; Taylor Nutt Barker and Savannah Lee Barker of the Atlanta area; one great grandson, Blaine Lathem along with many cousins, aunts and uncles.  Preceding him in death were his mother and father and two sisters:  Doris  &  Otie Wright; Suzee & Sam Porter. 

Clyde was in the Class of 1958 of Graham High School and loved going back to the Class Reunions and seeing old friends and reminisce the high school days.

 Clyde enjoyed sports including golf, hunting and fishing and traveling with his "Little Ladies" of the senior group "Jet Set".  He was of Methodist faith and a member of Dacula First United Church.

Visitation services will be held on Wed. Feb 28 from 4-6:30 pm with a "Remembrance Service" immediately following at Flanigan Funeral Home, 4400 South Lee St., Buford GA 30518.  A Military burial will be held at a later date at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA.
