Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Thursday March 1, 2018 at Ward’s Funeral Home Chapel for Rev. Raleigh Thomas Parks, age 82 of Gainesville. The Rev. Timothy Sullens, Rev. Billy Poole, Rev. Ronald Seabolt, speakers Chris Matthews, Ramone Gilbert and Dr. Sohel Momin will officiate. Interment will follow at Redwine United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Rev. Parks went home to be with the Lord on Sunday February 25, 2018.
Rev. Parks was born in Hall County to the late Robert Howard Parks Sr. and Julia Mauldin Parks. He had pastored Ridgeview Baptist Church in Forsyth County for 8 years and pastored Antioch Baptist Church in
Dacula for 24 years. He had also worked security at the Hall County Courthouse from 2001-2010, and was a member of Prospect Baptist
Church.
Survivors include wife of 63 years, Doris A. Thurmond Parks, daughters and sons-in-law, Pamela and Jeff Dixon, Vicki Landreth, Rhonda and Stephen Patterson, Tonya and Stuart Dailey, 6 grandchildren and 9
great grandchildren.
