Johnny Ray Gibson

Mr. Johnny Ray Gibson age 63 of Sawdust Hills, Turnerville passed away Friday February 23, 2018 at his residence.

A son of the late Thomas Virgil and Ada Mae Frady Gibson, He was born on September 8, 1954 in Habersham County, Georgia where he lived all his life. He chose a life long career as a commercial truck driver. In his early years he and his brother helped their parents operate Gibson's Woodyard in the 1970's. He spent most of the middle of his life as an over the road truck driver, some of those years were spent an independent driver. He ended his career as he began it in the logging industry hauling logs. He enjoyed collecting cars, riding motorcycles, and spending time with his family and friends. He was a member of Turnerville Church of God.

Survivors include his girlfriend of 18 years Misty Justus, two daughters and son-in-law Tina and Shane Bowen of Demorest, Georgia and Tammy Garrett of Turnerville, Georgia, four grandchildren Cody Cook, Will Garrett, Bailey Garrett, and Karley Garrett,  a brother and sister-in-law Jimmy and Paula Gibson, two nephews Andrew Gibson and Mathew Gibson, a niece Rachel Gibson, many cousins and close friends.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday February 27, 2018 at 2 P.M. in the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with the Reverend Johnny Loudermilk officiating.

The family will be at the home and will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Sunday from 4 P.M. til 8 P.M. and on Monday from 5 P.M. til 9 P.M.

The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers Brett Burrell, Brady Hurt, Will Garrett, Dusty Burrell, Dusty Burrell, Timmy Duckett and Bailey Garrett.

Interment will follow in Turnerville Church of God Cemetery.
