Glenn Satterfield

Glenn Satterfield, 93 of Gainesville passed away Sunday February 18, 2018 at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

Born in Lumpkin County, Mr. Satterfield had lived in Hall County for most of his life.  He was the son of the late Benjamin and Cerona Carder Satterfield.  Mr. Satterfield was retired from Southeastern Highway Construction Company and J.A. Long Highway Construction Company where he worked as a heavy equipment mechanic for many years.  He was a member of Chestatee Lodge #102 F & AM, where he was a past master.  Mr. Satterfield was also a member and deacon of Sardis Baptist Church.

He loved working in his garden and helping out anyone that needed anything fixed or needed a job done.  Mr. Satterfield will be missed by all that knew him, and was loved by many.

Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Laura Jean Waters Satterfield, Gainesville; daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and Benny Samples, Gainesville; son, Tony Satterfield, Gainesville; grandchildren, Julie and Joshua Satterfield, Gainesville; Kevin and Heather Samples, Braselton; great grandchildren, Ellie and Will Satterfield, Gainesville; Lillian Samples, Braselton; sister, Ruth Parker, Dawsonville; brother, Carl Satterfield (Najma), Charleston, South Carolina; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, H. B. and Dot Waters, Dawsonville; brother-in-law, Kenneth Stephens, Dawsonville.  A host of other relatives also survive.

Mr. Satterfield is preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, J.C. Satterfield.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday February 21, 2018 at the Sardis Baptist Church.  Pastor Stan Peck, Rev. Chris Anderson, Rev. Lamar Purcell and Rev. Doug Forrester will officiate.  Interment will follow in the Sardis Baptist Church Cemetery with full Masonic graveside rites.  The family will receive friends at Little & Davenport Funeral Home Tuesday February 20, 2018 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m.
