Geraldine Martin Smallwood

Mrs. Geraldine Martin Smallwood, 85, of Gainesville passed away at Northeast Georgia Medical Center Braselton Campus on Saturday, February 17, 2018 following a brief illness surrounded by her family.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with Reverend Mike Taylor officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Born on October 27, 1932 in Hall County, she was the daughter of the late Roy Martin and Bera Sexton Martin.  She was retired from Lancaster Music where she worked in sales. Mrs. Smallwood was a member of Flat Creek Baptist Church and a former member of Westside Baptist Church.

Mrs. Smallwood has played piano since age 13 where she played for several churches. She was the pianist for Westside Baptist Church in Gainesville and for The Rock Baptist Church in Fairburn, GA for several years.

A loving Christian, she never judged and always forgave.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Smallwood is preceded in death by her husband, Eddie Smallwood and her brother, Jimmy Martin.

Mrs. Smallwood is survived by her daughter and son in law, Yvonne and Steve Jenner of Gainesville; son and daughter in law, Dwight and Terry Smallwood of Greenville, SC; grandson and wife, Chad and Maureen Smallwood of Newnan; step grandson and wife, Justin and Amanda Davis of Greenville, SC; great-grandchildren, Bryson Smallwood, Megan Smallwood; step great grandchildren, Sloan Davis, Stephanie Davis; grand-doggies, Dudley and Oliver and a number of other relatives.

The family would like to give thanks to Northeast Georgia Medical Center Hospice and also to the Nurses of One West Northeast Georgia medical Center Braselton Campus.
