Mr. Philip “Phil” Harold Aubertine, age 76, of Dawsonville passed away Thursday, February 15, 2018.
Mr. Aubertine was born in New Bedford, Massachusetts on June 28, 1941 to the late Harold Roy and Dorothy Mae Bourne Aubertine. A proud veteran of the United States Navy, he served 2 tours in Vietnam. He was a Senior Chief Petty Officer specializing in anti-submarine warfare. Mr. Aubertine was a recipient of the "Air Medal” for meritorious achievement while participating in aerial flight.
He graduated from Parks College as an aeronautical engineer. Mr. Aubertine continued his career with Pax River, Boeing, and LTV Aerospace and Defense as an engineer and manager, Sierra Data Systems as General Manager, and Parker Aerospace as an Assistant Director. He also taught aeronautical maintenance as an instructor at Middle Georgia College. Mr. Aubertine was an Assistant Scout Master of Troop 711 in Seattle, WA and the Scout Master of Troop 507 in Holland, NY. He was a member of St. Luke The Evangelist Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Ann Marie Aubertine; son Michael Aubertine, Dawsonville; son and daughter-in-law Daniel and Carolyn Aubertine, Portland, OR; daughter and son-in-law Jeannemarie and Daniel Eskridge, Marietta; sister Jeanne Williams, Pittsburg, PA; grandchildren Logan Aubertine, Sophie Aubertine, Dashiell Eskridge, Corbin Eskridge, and Cecilia Eskridge.
A funeral mass is scheduled for 10 AM Thursday, February 22, 2018 at the St. Luke The Evangelist Catholic Church. Father John Matejek will officiate. Interment will follow at The Georgia National Cemetery in Canton with full military honors.
