Rev. Emerson Payne

Rev. Emerson Payne, age 86, of Dawsonville, GA, passed away on Thursday, February 15, 2018. Rev. Payne has pastored several churches in the area. He served in Korea, during his military service. He was past master of LayFayette #44 Masonic Lodge. He is preceded in death by his parents, Charlie R. and Mary Elizabeth Payne; grandson, Kaleb Payne; 4 brothers and 7 sisters.

He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Wansley Pruitt Payne; children, Rev. Carter and Martha Payne, Kenneth and Vivian Payne, Carolyn and David Parks, Rev. Barry and Rita Payne, and Marcus and Deborah Payne; 9 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and many other loving friends and relatives.

Funeral services for Mr. Payne will be held Saturday, February 17, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Ingram Funeral Home in Cumming, GA, with Rev. Danny Ray Martin and Rev. Carter Payne officiating. Interment will follow at Sawnee View Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service.
