He was born on May 24, 1955 in Greenville, KY to Albert and Elizabeth (Gentry) Buchanan. He was an alumnus of Georgia Southern University and University of Georgia School of Law. David will be remembered most for his devotion to his family and his unbeatable sense of humor. He was a true partner to his wife, Sally, and was an indispensable part of her work with therapeutic foster children and adults with
developmental disabilities.
Professionally, David was an attorney who truly put his heart into his work. He loved his clients and treated them as family. As a church
youth group leader, along with his wife, David served the homeless, built grain storage facilities in a small Honduran village, built a
school in El Salvador and shared his faith in action with all of the youth he led. He was always up for a new adventure whether it was sky
diving, rock sliding, or jumping off of waterfalls. As a father and grandfather, David always had time for laughter, fishing, deep
conversations and digging in the dirt. David had an unstoppable spirit and was forever young at heart.
David will be lovingly remembered by his wife and best friend of 41 years, Sally, and his daughters, Heather, and Courtney (Bobby). David
will be forever remembered by his three grandchildren, Landon, Connor, and Olivia and by his sisters Susan (Bill) Ervin and Desda (Curtis)
Townsend. David will always remain in the hearts of his in-laws, numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and dear friends.
