John F. Schlesinger, 62, of Dawsonville passed away Thursday February 8, 2018 at Northside Forsyth Hospital following a period of declining health.
Born April 4, 1955 in Temple, Texas to the late Frank and Millie Schlesinger, he had lived in Dawson County since 1999. John worked at Rick Hendrick Chevrolet in the auto parts department for 23 years until his retirement. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Franklin Schlesinger, Larry Schlesinger; brother in law, Richard Garcia; and father in law, Charles Burt.
Surviving are his wife, Pam Burt Schlesinger, Dawsonville; children, Charissa and Jarett Bills, Ronnie Shires; grandchildren, Gabriel, Aeris, Ronnie, Jr., Dallas, Phoenix; sisters and brothers in law, Rose Ann and Jim Burkel, Dorothy Schlesinger, Betty Jo Garcia, Mary Jean and Bill Hermann; mother in law, Betty Burt; sisters in law and brothers in law, Donna Schlesinger, Mary Helen Schlesinger, Ellen and Johnny McDaris, Cheryl and Bob Kelley, Chuck and Suzette Burt; special friends, Rusty Thigpen, John “Wally” Wallace; nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Memorial services will be held Saturday February 17, 2018 at 2 o’clock at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Deacon Jim Burkel will officiate.
The family will receive friends on Saturday February 17 from 1 until 2 at the funeral home.
