Charles Leroy Helman

Mr. Charles Leroy Helman, age 72, of Gainesville, passed away on Thursday, February 01, 2018 at his residence following an extended illness.

Memorial services are scheduled at a later date.

Mr. Helman was born on October 23, 1945 in Indiana, Pennsylvania to the late Gordon Helman and Ethel Hinton Helman.  He was retired from Wrights Plastic and was of the Baptist Faith.  Charles was preceded in death by his parents, three of his brothers, 3 of his sisters and his son-in-law, Greg Ganaway.

Mr. Helman is survived by his wife of 51 years, Mary Poole Helman of Gainesville, his daughters & sons-in-laws, Virginia Connolly & Lou Asmer of Flowery Branch, Verna Ganaway & Pablo Montilla of Bayou Vista, Louisiana and Christine Maynor & Dennis Dover of Lula, son & daughter-in-law, Gordon & Terri Helman of Patterson, Louisiana, 13 grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, 1 brother and 5 sisters.
