Anthony S. “Tony” Taylor, 64, of Dawsonville passed away Monday January 29, 2018 at his residence following a period of declining health.
Born July 17, 1953 in Weilheim, Germany, he lived most of his life in Atlanta before moving to Dawson County several years ago. Mr. Taylor was a 1971 graduate of Henry Grady High School where he was co-president of the Student Body. He was also active in the band and athletics. Tony attended the University of Georgia and remained an avid Bulldog fan. He served in the U. S. Army for over two years, was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church, and was preceded in death by his father, Morris Taylor.
Surviving are his daughter, Jillian Taylor, Eastanolle, GA; mother, Helen Pierce Taylor, Dawsonville; aunt, Erva Pirkle; uncles and aunts, James and Jean Pierce, Dahlonega, Paul and Nancy Kitchens, Dahlonega; special caregiver, Treena Andersen; and numerous beloved cousins.
Memorial services will be held Friday February 2, 2018 at 2 o’clock in the chapel of Bethel United Methodist Church. Dr. David Sanders, Rev. Eddie Herring and Rev. Emory Brackman will officiate.
