Charlotte Thompson Cerneka, age 72, of Buford, GA passed away on Sunday, January 28, 2018. She is survived by her husband of fifty-five years, Carl A. Cerneka, Buford, GA; sons and daughters-in-law, Jeff and Pam Cerneka, Buford, GA, Mark and Ruth Cerneka, Snellville, GA, and Chris Cerneka, Los Angeles, CA; grandchildren, Jake, Carly, Sydney, William, Daphne, and Walden; sister and brother-in-law, Geree and Jim Hansen, Waterloo, IL; nephews, Jimmy Keller, Brian and Kelley Keller; great nieces and great nephews, Sarah, Rachel, Jessie, Clayton, and Jake; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and host of friends. Mrs. Cerneka was born March 16, 1946 in East St. Louis, Illinois. She was a 1963 graduate of East St. Louis Senior High School and attended Saddle Back College in California, and Belleville College in Belleville, Illinois. She was Nana to her family, her grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. “She was a very vibrant person who enjoyed being with her family and friends and lived life to the fullest.” A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at 4:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Buckman officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 3, 2018 from 3:00 p.m. until the time of service at 4:00 p.m. at the funeral Home.
