William Allen Lathem, 57 of Gainesville passed away Saturday January 27, 2017 at his residence.
Born in Camp Springs, Maryland, Allen had lived in Hall County for most of his life. He was retired from the City of Gainesville where he had worked as a design engineer. He had attended Gainesville High School before graduating from North Hall High School in 1979. Allen was a member of New Holland Baptist Church and also First Baptist Church on Green Street.
Survivors include his wife of 31 years, Robin Gee Lathem, mother, Wynell Lathem, sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Wes Phillips; brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Beth Lathem, all of Gainesville. 3 nieces, 1 nephew and 2 great nephews also survive.
Allen is preceded in death by his father, William L. "Bill" Lathem.
The family would like to say a special thank you to the staff and nurses of Hospice of Northeast Georgia Medical Center for their loving care given to Allen during this time.
Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday January 31, 2018 in the chapel of First Baptist Church on Green Street. Dr. Bill Coates and Rev. Richard Merck will officiate. The family will receive friends at Little & Davenport Funeral Home Tuesday January 30, 2018 from 6-8 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that memorial contributions be made to the Humane Society of Northeast Georgia, 845 West Ridge Road, Gainesville, Ga. 30501 in memory of Allen.
