Ray Sanford, 85, of Dawsonville passed away Friday January 26, 2018 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following a period of declining health.
Mr. Sanford was born August 8, 1932 in Charlotte, North Carolina. Living most of his life in Dawsonville he was a member of Mill Creek Baptist Church. A simple man and loving father and grandfather Ray was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Hattie Sanford, and wife, Liz Sanford.
Surviving are his children, Judy and Phil Anderson, Dawsonville, Jenny and Scott Mason, Gainesville, Trish and Steve Samples, Cumming, Daniel Sanford, Hoschton, Gertie and Rory Puckett, Dawsonville, Stephen Sanford, Atlanta; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and other relatives.
Funeral services will be held on Monday January 29, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Rodney Pilcher, Rev. Richard Rush and Rev. Gary English will officiate. Interment will follow in Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday January 28 from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m.
