George Thomas Alexander

George Thomas Alexander, age 87, of Oakwood, GA, formerly of Smyrna, passed away Thursday,January 25, 2018.

Funeral services will be held Monday, January 29, 2018 at  11 a.m. in the Chapel of West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev. Lamar Purcell and Rev. Keith Collins officiating. Interment will be held at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at Georgia National Cemetery with military honors.

A native of Cobb County, Mr. Alexander was a veteran of the United States Navy. He was an ordained minister having pastored at Antioch Baptist Church in Butler, GA and was formerly a member of Spring Street Baptist Church in Smyrna and Floyd Road Baptist Church in Austell . He was currently a member of Bethany Baptist Church in Gainesville.

Mr. Alexander is survived by his wife, Doris Alexander of Oakwood, GA; Son and Daughter in law, Wayne and Gay Alexander of Braselton, GA; Grandchildren, Stephanie "Jason" Sigler and Dawn "Sean" Doyne; and Great Granddaughters, Hannah Sigler, and Jacklyn, Eva, and Sara Doyne.
