Jimmy Ernest Marcus, age 68 of Demorest, passed away Saturday, January 20, 2018, at Habersham Medical Center.
Born in Habersham County on October 4, 1949, he was a son of the late Henry Houston Marcus and Martha Coalley James. Mr. Marcus was a retired maintenance supervisor with Habersham Mills / Russell Corp. He was of the Holiness faith and enjoyed hunting. He was a member of UKC, Georgia Game Breeders Association, and the National Rifle Association, and also a Master of Hounds for AKC. He was a bench show judge for NKC and AKC. Mr. Marcus was a lifetime member and former president and secretary of Habersham County Coon Hunter’s Association.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brothers, Lee Marcus and Ronnie “Boo-Boo” Marcus.
Surviving are daughter, Meshil Marcus of Mt. Airy; special nephew, Adam Tyler of Demorest; fiancée, JoAnn Flanigan of Demorest; grandchildren, Zack Bardinelli, Heather Bardinelli, and Storm Bardinelli; great grandchildren, Bentley, McKenna, Paisley, and Braylee Bardinelli and Benjamin and Sebastian Flores; sisters, Evelyn Higgins of Clarkesville, Melinda Rich of Mt. Airy, Bonnie Canup of Mt. Airy, Shannon Brown of Baldwin; brother, David Marcus of Cleveland; also a number of nieces and nephews.
A private memorial service will be held.
