Mr. Roy Freddie Wilson, age 69, of Eastanollee, Ga. passed away Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at Anderson Area Medical Center, Anderson, S.C.
A son of the late Corbin and Eliza Thompson Wilson, he was born June 26, 1948 in Stephens County, Georgia having lived all of his life in Stephens and Franklin counties. Mr. Wilson was a retired Welder after many years of service, a member of Broad River Baptist, and was a loving father and husband that always took care of his family and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Ivester Wilson, siblings, William Jack Wilson, Gene Wilson, and Shirley Edge, and by a son, Cory Wilson.
He is survived by three daughters and son-in-law, Pamela Wilson Clay and Jonathan Clay of Carnesville, Ga., Missy Payne of Toccoa, and Becky Ivester of Lavonia, Ga., a son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Connie Ivester of Eastanollee, Ga., grandchildren, Joshua Wilson, Kassie Wilson, Jordan Wilson, Jamie Ivester, Kayla and Bubba Webb, Jesse Ivester, Hali Hollars, and Mikel Ivester, great-grandchildren, Chase Wilson, Landyn Webb, Leiah Ivester, Kayli Ivester, and Eliza Ivester, and also a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at Broad River Baptist Church with Reverend Shannon Hayes, Reverend Jerome Hill, and Reverend Brandon Crunkleton officiating.
The following gentlemen have been selected to serve as pallbearers and will please assemble at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home by 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, Kevin Foster, Skipper Clay, Mike Payne Tracey Addison, Jeff Smith, Randy Edmonds, and Scott Crunkleton, and Chad Corn.
The family will be at their respective homes and will receive friends at The Acree-Davis Funeral Home from 7 until 9 p.m. Friday evening.
