Mr. Clifford Francis Tefend, 88, of Gainesville, Georgia passed away on January 14, 2018.
Born in Highland Park, Michigan, he graduated from the University of Detroit with a Bachelor of Science in Aeronautical Engineering. For 37 years, he held progressive engineering and management roles at Rockwell International, Missile Systems Division.
A dedicated member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church, he absolutely cherished his faith and family. He has living legacy of 11 children, 21 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren. Cliff, aka “Fran,” loved hunting, nature and viewing the lake. He was a man of honor, simplicity and fairness. He bound us all together.
Surviving are his children: Jeffrey (Betsy), Kevin (Phillistene), Mark (Linda), Kathy, Karen, Kim (Mike), Matthew (Hanna), Mary (David) and James; step-children Mark and Mike (Cindy) Finney; twin brother Fred; sisters Margaret, Dolly, Ann and Elaine. He is preceded in death by parents, Benjamin and Anna; brothers Benjamin and William; sister Irene; son Keith and his beloved wife Sylvia Blackwell Tefend.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Michael’s in Gainesville at 11am on January 26th; thereafter Clifford will be laid to rest alongside his wife following Holy Mass; Memorial Park Cemetery (2030 Memorial Park Drive, Gainesville). www.memorialparkfuneralhomes.com.
