Sarah Elizabeth Barnett

Sarah Elizabeth Barnett, age 97, of Cumming passed away Tuesday, January 23, 2018. She was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church in Cumming, GA.  Sarah and her late husband, Leonard both owned and operated Barnett’s Poultry and Hatchery and Barnett Super Market. She was a local artist who gifted many of her paintings to her dear friends and family. In addition to her husband she is preceded in death by her parents, James and Winnie Henderson; 6 sibling; and son-in-law, Berry McWhorter.

Survivors include her children, JoAnn McWhorter, Linda (Larry) Stancil, Connie (Jimmy) Tallant, Susan (Gary) Mullinax, Steve (Joan) Barnett, Leonard Barnett, Jr. and Leslie Grantham; sisters, Belle Carter and Glenda Kirby; 17 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; caregivers, Becky Cherry and Esther Kinyanjui; and many other loving relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 25, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Ingram Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry McCormick and Rev. Shad Faulkner officiating. Interment will follow at Sawnee View Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, from 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in memory of Mrs. Barnett to Pleasant View Baptist Church.
