Mary Frances "Polly" Goss Burnette

Mary Frances (Polly) Goss Burnette, born September 22, 1935, passed away
Friday night January 19, 2018 after a short illness. 

Polly was preceded in death by her parents, Joe Edwin and Jenny Florence Lancaster Goss, her sister, Iris Goss Meeker, and  nephew, Walter Edwin Neill.

Polly is survived by her husband of over 64 years, William L. Burnette, Sr., two children, William L. Burnette, Jr., and wife Charla, Karen E. Burnette, two grandchildren, William L. (Trey) Burnette III, and wife Jessica Benefield, and C. Blair Burnette.

Polly grew up in the Gainesville, GA area, moving to Cumming, GA in 2001.  Polly graduated fro Lyman Hall High School in 1953, and attended Brenau College.  Polly also obtained her paralegal degree from Mercer College in Atlanta.  Polly was a paralegal for many years at a local law firm, retiring at the young age of 45.  Polly and Bill were members of the Elks Club.  They were also members of a Thursday night dinner club, consisting of cherished friends who were members of their Lyman Hall High School senior class, and their spouses.

The family will receive friends and loved ones from noon until 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday January 23, 2018 at Little & Davenport Funeral Home in Gainesville, followed by a memorial service in the chapel at 2:00 p.m.
