Kermett Charles Martin

Kermett Charles  Martin, 82 of Gainesville passed away Friday January 19, 2018 at his residence.

Born in Forsyth County, Mr. Martin had lived in Hall County for most of his life. He was the son of the late W.E. and Etta Corn Martin.  Mr. Martin was retired from AT & T and also worked along with his late wife, Ann in the  catering business for over 60 years.  He was a member of the Gainesville Lodge #219 F & AM.

Survivors include his children, Cindy Balest (Tony) ; Kim Smith (Derrell); Tim Martin; Jody Martin;  grandchildren, Danielle Causey (Dr. Mark Causey) , Dr. Zach Balest (Ashley),  Nick Wright, Alexis Knapp, Braeden and Bentley Martin; Courtney Accorsi (Tony); Richard Smith,  great grandchildren,  Carter Causey, McCallan Causey, Rhodes Causey, Phinn Knapp, Michael and Jade Accorsi,  brothers, Ellis Martin (Nancy), Frank Martin (Stacey), sisters, Collene Martin, Carolyn West, Regina McNeal, Mary Lou Nix, Martha Tanner.  A number of nieces and nephews also survive.

Mr. Martin is preceded in death by is parents, wife, Ann Whitmire Martin, brothers, Herman Martin and Emmett Martin.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday January 22, 2018 in the chapel of Little & Davenport Funeral Home.  Rev. Richard Long will officiate.  Interment will follow in the South Bend United Methodist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m.
