Farrell McDonald Anderson

Mrs. Farrell McDonald Anderson, age 61, of Dahlonega, passed away Friday, January 19, 2018 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born March 12, 1956 at Woodward Clinic, Dahlonega and resided in Dahlonega her entire life.  She was a graduate of Lumpkin County High School, Lanier Technical College, and attended North Georgia College.  She was employed as a bookkeeper for Owens Farms for 11 years, and worked with the second computer ever in Dahlonega.  She spent 29 years in banking and was an employee of United Community Bank at the time of her death.  She has also worked as a substitute rural mail carrier and postal clerk, licensed cosmetologist, owned Mirror Image Salon, and spent over a year as an agent for Horace Mann Insurance.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents and her father, Brennon W. McDonald, several aunts and uncles.

She is survived by her daughter (and best friend) Alicia Farrell Watkins and her husband Jason Watkins; three stepsons and their wives (whom she loved as her own), Jimmy E., Jr. and Shelley Palmour Anderson, of Gainesville, Christopher M. and Elsa Lember Anderson and Payton S. Anderson, all of Dahlonega.  She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Anna Caitlyn Anderson (Jimmy) of Gainesville, Evan, Estella and Erik Anderson (Chris) of Dahlonega, Myles and Nicholas Anderson (Payton) of Dahlonega, Jenna Watkins (Alicia) of Dahlonega and grandson, Luke Watkins (Alicia), due in February, husband, Jimmy Anderson, Sr.; her mother, Marie McDonald of Dahlonega; her brother, Carl McDonald, of Dahlonega; uncle, Herman McDonald; aunt, Sammie Lane Sullens and several cousins.

Farrell's greatest joy in life was her family.  She was always ready to provide encouragement and assistance, always putting their needs before her own.  She was the "wind beneath their wings."  She was loved and cherished by her family and all who knew her.  She will be missed terribly.

The family would like to thank Larry Odom and the employees of United Community Bank for their kindness and support to Farrell during her long illness. Also to the doctors and staff of the Cancer Treatment Center of America, Newnan, GA who treated us like family.

Funeral services are scheduled for Sunday, January 21, 2018 at 3pm at Dahlonega Funeral Home.  The Rev. Bill Hutcheson, and the Rev. Danny Jones will officiate. Interment will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Jimmy Anderson, Jr., Chris Anderson, Payton Anderson, Myles Anderson, Nicholas Anderson and Rick Harris.  Junior Pallbearer will be Evan Anderson.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 20 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Sunday, January 21 from 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM at the funeral home.  Online condolences may be expressed at www.dahlonegafuneralhome.com.
