Marty Colby Howard

Marty Colby Howard, age 29, of Dahlonega passed away Thursday, January 18, 2018 following a sudden illness.

Colby was a native and lifelong resident of Lumpkin County. He was born on September 11, 1988.  Colby was preceded in death by his father Marty Howard; maternal grandfather Jewell Crane; and paternal grandfather Hugh Howard.  The love of his life was his “baby girl”, Colby’s daughter Bethany.  Colby attended Lumpkin County High School and after his grandfather’s sudden passing he took over operating the family farm.  From tending cows, baling hay, and planting, Colby loved to get his hands dirty on the family farm.  He loved fishing, riding his motorcycle, and anything he could do outdoors.  Colby’s most recent accomplishment was achieving his CDL to drive his dump truck and clear some land. 

Survivors include his daughter Bethany Jewel Howard, Clarkesville; mother Patricia Howard; maternal grandmother Janie “Net” Crane; paternal grandmother Diane Howard; all of Dahlonega; several lifelong and close friends Adam, Eric, Josh, Michael, Chandler, Nathan and Casey to name a few; several aunts and uncles also survive.

To remember Colby’s life, the family will receive friends Saturday, January 27, 2018 from 1-4 PM at Banister Funeral Home.
