Mrs. Hazel Eulalia Edwards, age 94 of Montgomery, Alabama, passed away on Sunday, January 14, 2018 at Prattville Baptist Hospital. Hazel died following a short illness.
Hazel was born September 27, 1923 in Dawsonville, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her parents, Payton Thomas Duncan and Eulalia Gunter Duncan and her loving husband, Elmer John David Edwards. Mrs. Edwards was a native of Dawson County and later moved to Gainesville, Georgia for over 55 years. She and her husband were members of Westside Baptist Church. Her remaining years were in Montgomery, Alabama.
Mrs. Edwards is survived by her son, Stanley David Edwards, Sr. and his wife, Frances W. Edwards of Montgomery, Alabama, their sons, Stanley (Jodie) Edwards, Jr. of Bay Minette, Alabama and John Benson Edwards of Montgomery, Alabama. Also surviving are 4 great-granddaughters, Morgan, Sloan, Stuart and Hayes Edwards, sister, Belle Sirmans of Savannah, Georgia. She was one of eleven brothers and sisters, several loving nieces, nephews, cousins and loving friends.
Graveside services are scheduled for Saturday, January 20, 2018 at 11:00 am in Memorial Park Cemetery. Reverend Mike Taylor will officiate. The family will receive friends on Friday, January 19, 2018 from 6 – 8 pm at the funeral home.
