William Earl Ramey, Sr.,

William Earl Ramey, Sr., age 67 of Alto, Georgia passed away on Monday, January 15, 2018.

Born in Clayton, Georgia on April 04, 1950, he was a son of the late William Vaughn Ramey & Louise Bingham Ramey. Mr. Ramey served his country proudly in the United States Army. He was a retired Carpenter who also enjoyed farming and gardening.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Ramey was preceded in death by a son, William Earl Ramey, Jr., daughter, Mary Elizabeth Ramey, and a brother, Norman Ramey.

Survivors include his former wife, Laura Virginia Beasley Ramey of Alto, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer Lynn Ramey Elmore & Tim Elmore of Hoschton, GA; step-daughter, Jenny Lewis & Aaron Lewis of Texas; step-son, Robert Whitworth of Alto, GA; sister & brother-in-law, Betty & Thomas Russell of Alto, GA; brothers & sisters-in-law, Leonard & Cherryl Ramey, Steve “Peanut” & Kathy Ramey all of Alto, GA; Glenn & Bernice Ramey of Flowery Branch, GA; half-brother, Ray Maney of Winder, GA; grandchildren, Jonathan Fortner, Emily Elmore, & Evelyn Billings all of Hoschton, GA; Justin Wade of Texas; Amber Gulley of Asheville, NC; Brandon McConnell, Robin Whitworth both of Cleveland, GA; great-granddaughter, Harley Dailey; a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, special friend, Bobby Thomas of Mt. Airy, GA; other relatives, & friends.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 20, 2018 from the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart Funeral Home.
