Anne Elizabeth King

Anne Elizabeth King hiked into the great hereafter at the age of 73 on January 11, 2018.

A colorful soul with a firecracker personality, she was predeeded in death by her parents Frances Baliff King and Allison Grant King, Sr, and is survived by siblings Carol Manston, Cynthia (Cindy) King, and Allison Grant King, Jr., as well as a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Anne graduated from Cross Keys high school and attended Emory University at Oxford, GA. She worked for Dekalb schools, including Warren Technical School in Chamblee, for nearly a decade where she taught vocational skills to special education students, taking many of them under her wing. Her specialty was in the Horticulture and Landscaping programs. She was also the Reading Teacher's assistant for many years. She was passionate about nature (especially exploring the wilderness), social justice, and education. Her free-spirited approach to life, witty linguistic ability, and selfless example will live on among everyone who loved her, and those whose lives were made better by her presence and persistence.
