Thomas "Randy" Randall Turner

Thomas “Randy” Randall Turner, age 69 of Cornelia, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, January 12, 2018.

Mr. Turner was born December 13, 1948 in at The Charm House in Clarkesville, GA to Jean Canup Stancil and the late Thomas Wesley Turner Jr. He was a 1967 graduate of Lumpkin County High School and continued his education at North Georgia College where he majored in Business Administration. He served in the United States Air Force from 1967-1971. After serving his country he started the first State Farm Agency in Cleveland, GA in 1974 but retired from State Farm in Greenville, SC in 2004. Randy married Betty Ann Cooper on June 6, 1971 in Dahlonega, GA. He loved his wife dearly and took the best care of her. He loved to snow ski and taught almost all of his grandchildren how to ski on Colorado skiing trips. Randy also loved to kayak, read, walk on the beach and spend time with his family. He was a big jokester and loved to pick on his family.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Ann Cooper Turner, his children, Thomas Wesley Turner III (Jan), Jason Randal Turner (Tara); mother, Jean Canup Stancil; five grandchildren, Laney Marie Esco, Carson Ann Turner, Ansley Wilson Turner, Olivia Grace Turner, John Wesley Turner; great grandchildren, Camden Joshua Esco, Easton Crue Esco, Kass Oaklyn Esco; brother, R. Ed Grizzle; sister, Sheree Grizzle.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at The Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. The Rev. Patrick Ballington and Mr. Jim Cameron will officiate. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM Monday at the funeral home.
