Walter G. Bailey

Walter G. Bailey, age 79, of Buford, GA passed away Friday, January 12, 2018. He was preceded in death by his parents, Narvin and Maudlene Bailey; brothers, Roger Bailey, Larry Bailey, and Donald Ray Bailey. Mr. Bailey is survived by his wife of sixty-two years, Laura Coggins Bailey, Buford, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Jane Bailey, Flowery Branch, GA; grandson, Matthew Bailey, Flowery Branch, GA; sisters, Gail (Earl) Hedden, Buford and Deborah (Lonnie) Hardy, Flowery Branch; brother, Kenneth (Debbie) Bailey, Buford; sister-in-law, Clara Mae Bailey, Buford; brothers-in-law, Willie (Peggy) Coggins, Flowery Branch, and Leon (Linda) Coggins, Buford; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.  Mr. Bailey was born on May 24, 1938 in Cumming, GA. He was retired from General Motors Assembly Plant in Doraville, GA, and he also worked for Bona Allen Company and John Mobley Coin Leather business. Mr. Bailey was a member of UAW Local 10, and he was a member of Buford Church of God. He enjoyed playing the guitar with a group of friends, as well as riding horses. The funeral service will be held on Sunday, January 14, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Buford Church of God in Buford, GA with Pastor Jerry Hewitt, Pastor Scott Crow, and Pastor Joey Grizzle officiating. Interment will immediately follow at Broadlawn Memorial Gardens in Buford, GA.  The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 13 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
