Rev. Barney Eugene Williams of Flowery Branch, Ga;  a loved husband, Father, Grandfather, Preacher and Friend to many passed away on Monday January 8, 2018.  Barney was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Bessie Turk Williams. His is survived by his wife of 3 years, Ernestine Duncan Williams; son, Barney Lamar Williams and his wife, Donna Hood Williams of Flowery Branch, GA; daughter, Sandra Williams Goodrum and husband Lee Goodrum of Bogart, GA; and son, Terry Williams of Flowery Branch, Ga; grandchildren, Jennifer Compton, husband, Brett Compton of Flowery Branch, GA; Weston Goodrum, wife, Nina Crawford Goodrum of Winder, GA; B. J. Williams, wife, Meredith Caudill Williams of Flowery Branch, GA; John Michael Williams, wife, Anna Kate Smith Williams of Flowery Branch, GA; Whitney Goodrum Roof, husband, Dan Roof of Jackson Hole, WY; and Wyatt Goodrum, fiancée, Nicole Twele of Charlotte, N.C.;  great grand children, Maddie Compton, Clayton and Nolan Goodrum, Button, Lila Jane, Jasper, Cora Williams and Holt (HP) and Ridge Williams. He is also survived by sister, Dorothy Williams Martin of Cleveland, Ga.; step-children Eddie Duncan, wife Teresa; Sonya Duncan Jones, husband, Alan; and many nieces and nephews.   Barney had a exciting and full life of farming, building houses and pastoring 10 churches after announcing his calling to preach at 1954.  His work ethic was an encouragement to many in the churches and in his family, and his desire to see many come to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ was an inspiration to all.  A funeral service celebrating the life of Barney E. Williams will be held Thursday, January 11, 2:30 pm at Flanigan Funeral Home in Buford, with Pastor Ted Williams officiating. Interment will be held at Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery immediately after the service. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
